In particular, it will be focalised on neurodegenerative, psychiatric and brain tumors and to the aortic valve calcification disease (CAVD). All these diseases are related to age as a major risk factor for their development.

Innovative methods of molecular imaging for oncological and neurodegenerative diseases [MOLIM ONCO BRAIN LAB]

The MOLIM ONCO BRAIN project, presented under the "Avviso per la presentazione di Progetti di Ricerca Industriale e Sviluppo Sperimentale nelle 12 aree di specializzazione individuate dal PNR 2015-2020" (DD prot. 1735 13/07/2017), aims to development of innovative methods for the interpretation of oncological and neurological images with the support of bioinformatics systems. The methodology that is proposed is multi-modality of diagnostic approaches for the visualization of different target tissues and the integration of information from in vitro diagnostic methods. For this purpose, an image biobank was created in order to collect diagnostic images acquired in multimodality from patients affected by neuroldegenerative and oncological diseases.

The design idea is aimed at the development of a multiparametric performing system capable of identifying new biomarkers of neuronal degeneration that can be used for diagnostic and prognostic purposes for the determination of the staging / progression of neurodegeneration in the course of chronic-degenerative neurological diseases and identification of new targets that can represent the starting point for the development of innovative therapies.

The eMORFORAD project is related to the intervention line "Realizzazione di Piattaforme Tecnologiche nell’ambito della lotta alle patologie oncologiche" (DGR n.275/2017). The project proposes an innovative integrated use of in situ radiomic and proteomic technologies (quantum tissue morpho-phenotyping), for the development of a non-invasive approaches for diagnosis, personalized prognosis, predictive response to cancer therapies. The technological platform that we intend to develop will allow, through the implementation of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, not only the achievement of significant advances in terms of non-invasive pre-clinical diagnostics but also the implementation of innovative treatment strategies.

CD.PRO-CON project was presented in response of "Avviso pubblico per il sostegno alle imprese campane nella realizzazione di studi di fattibilità (Fase 1) e progetti di trasferimento tecnologico (Fase 2) coerenti con la RIS3" (DGR n.65/2017). The aims of the project are to create a tracking system for the production processes of food products through information technology. This will allow the producers to be guaranteed of the trade mark “Made in Campania” origin and a suitable "labeling". This will protectd both the producer and the final consumer. This aim will be possible with the use of specific ICT technologies such as NFC / RFID tags, through which the developed software will be able to track all the steps and provide an unique tracking within production, distribution and consumption.

Ultra-low-dose chest CT protocols and AI techniques for early diagnosis and quantification of the COVID-19 disease

The project, presented in response to the "Avviso pubblico per l'acquisizione di manifestazioni di interesse per la realizzazione di servizi di ricerca e sviluppo per la lotta contro il Covid-19" (DGR n. 140/2020), aims to the application of ultra-low-dose chest CT protocols and the use of artificial intelligence techniques for the early diagnosis of the COVID-19 disease. Another scope of the project is the creation of a hub within Regione Campania for the collection and the distribution of CT images from and to different imaging centers and hospitals. Project's results can be useful to support, integrate and accelerate the diagnosis process of the COVID-19 pathology in Regione Campania.
